Some of our haunt night volunteers.

Nine people are missing from the photo! We'll catch them next year!

Success!

I'd like to thank the people of Campell River who visited the Boneyard Haunt on the 24th and 25th of October. I was blown away by the kindness and generosity of the people who came and saw the haunt. Not only did you stand in line to get in, (some of you for more than an hour), you donated so generously to Cameryn's Cause that we doubled what we were hoping to raise. Over two nights we raised $4200. Success indeed! It was especially heartwarming to see children show up with their piggy banks and plastic bags of their own money.

Pulling of an event of this size requires the help of many people. First, I'd like to thank my great friend and co-conspirator Ange Denroche who put as much time and effort into this years haunt as I did.

The witches in the kitchen, Judy Sheppard, Doreen Hickey, and Kat Oddy.

The Building and Tear Down Crew, Wayne Sheppard, Chris Barnes, Justin Denroche, Kevin Spooner, Mason Harris, Mike Barnes and Marc Oulette and Mike Davidson.

The haunt set up and night crew, Tracy Barker, Trina Robinson, Jen Davidson, Danielle Dooris, Wayne Sheppard, Gerrit Dooris, Clay Plamondon, Janet Kiel, Justin Welde, Nishantha and Cody, Dana Meyers, Monique Hebert, Nicole Hebert, Tracy Wagner, Joanne, Kyle Robinson, Scott Robinson, Logan Buchanan, Jordyn Post, Collette Bouchard, Sandy Barnes, Leslie Poustie, Brooke Harris, Shayleen Harris, Sarah Robinson, Stephanie Sheppard, Maegan Klassen, Cynthia Carmichael, Darcy Carmichael, Tamara Barnes, Graeme Rae, Shannon Chalmers, Christa Hrabok, Teresa Lauder, Frank Sebastian, Kaden Barnes and Kyle Barnes.

Thank you to our sponsors. First and Foremost, Quality Foods who supplied the witches in the snack hut with everything they needed to keep all the ghouls and goblins fed. Cyriel and the great people at Quality Foods have been a pleasure to deal with and have already offered to sponsor next years event. The Davidson, Spooner and Sheppard families and Pookanooks childcare who made cash donations to get the haunt up and running.  Also to Winroc for the cemetery supplies.

A special thank you to Wasabiya Japanese Sushi Cafe who, much to our delight, suprised us with a tray of sushi on set-up day.

Thank you to all the people who donated candy. Tracy Ordano, Ruth, AWL Tec heating, and the Robinson and Voltera families.

A huge thank you to Bill and Leslie Poustie, and Sandy Barnes who opened up their yards for this event. Also to the Kiel family for allowing us the use of their yard for volunteer parking.

Please forgive me if I've missed anyone in the thank yous. We are just compiling our lists of volunteers and donors over the next few days.

Many of you asked if we'd be back next year and due to the generous comments and spirit of the haunt visitors, the vote among the volunteers was a resounding YES! If you'll come out, we'll be here. We were absolutely overwhelmed at your excitement for this event and offers of help for next year. I always knew that Campbell River was a generous community, but was not aware of the great spirit of our town until the Haunt.

Thanks to the Harris Family for once again letting us be part of Cameryn's Legacy. I once read a quote that said "A person only lives as long as the last person who remembers them." If this is true then Cameryn will live a very very long time in the hearts and memory of her community and those of us who were lucky enough to have been touched by her life.

Thank You

Mandy Barnes

If you see a spider on Halloween night, it means the spirit of a loved one is watching over you.
