Willow.....Our Flying Crank Ghost

I wanted something to display her so that you couldn't see her mechanical parts. That's when I came across the idea of a crypt on the internet. Some are pretty elaborate but I just wanted something simple that could be done in a couple of nights. My husband and dad used three sheets of four by six plywood and screwed them together. then they cut a piece of plywood to cover the top so we had something to mount her to and that's was it. She had a home. I painted the outside to look like bricks and made a fake brick facade and a fake brick peak out of the same styrofoam insulation I used for the tombstones. It's certainly not as fancy as some of the crypts on the net but it works. The main thing was it's easy to put up and take down and it comes apart for storage. This is an important feature due to a shortage of space.

The crypt painted and set up with our spook. Once it's completely dark you can't see any of her ropes or mechanical parts. I used some cheap curtain rods spray painted black to make a gate across the front of the crypt to keep out intruders. (no picture) Then I mounted the blacklight inside the crypt and she was ready for business. You can see her in action by watching the video at the top of this page..
